We know that technology is set to influence every aspect of our lives; we need to ensure that the people creating our technology solutions are representative of the population and that there is an equal opportunity to take part in the jobs of the future...introducing Tech We Can.

Tech We Can is everything you need to enrich your lessons and help inspire children, especially girls, to consider a tech career. It includes video tutorials, lesson plan slides and formats for use in years 6 - 8. They are designed to be mapped to the National Curriculum and meet 6 out of the 8 Gatsby benchmarks. They teach the basics and build curiosity into the technology jobs of the future for our younger generation and suitable to be taught to both boys and girls in lesson time.

The Initiative

The initiative is currently developing more lesson plans, a strategy for schools’ outreach, a work experience model, along with participating in events such as the Schools and Academies Show, BETT Show and more.

“This is a great opportunity for us to make sure what we are doing in schools is at the leading edge of what is possible.” - Paul Green, Headteacher, Lyng Hall School

The team behind Tech We Can have piloted the material, already reaching over 700 students and have received impressive feedback. To find out more, visit https://techwecan.org to register and gain access to the materials. Or if you have any specific questions, you can email techshecan@uk.pwc.com
